This evening will be the start of day three of the world championships in Beijing. Some notable events on the schedule should have fans on the edge of their seats while watching. The first event to watch on day three is going to be the women’s 3,000m steeplechase heats. Erin Teschuk and Genevieve Lalonde are going to be the Canadians competing in the event. Its starts at 9:35 p.m. eastern time– 9:35 a.m. in the morning in Beijing. Lalonde will compete in the first heat and Teschuk will compete in heat two. Both women represented Canada at the Pan Am Games last month with Lalonde winning bronze. Teschuk placed fourth. A few years ago I watched in awe as the Birds Nest was filled with electric vibes. Canada’s much-loved running pair Natasha Wodak and Lanni Marchant are going head-to-head in the women’s 10,000m tomorrow. That’s starting at 8:35 a.m. eastern time. This should be an especially exciting event as the talented pair has been going back and forth with wins all year. It’s Wodak who has the faster PB and the Canadian record in the distance but Marchant has performed amazingly recently. Last month at the Pan Am Games, Marchant placed ahead of Wodak in the 10,000m winning a bronze medal for Canada. Her PB in the 10,000m is 31:46. Wodak’s is 31:41. The two have brought much interest to Canadian women’s running recently and have both accumulated quite the fan following. That’s on at 9:15 a.m. eastern time. Hughes has the Canadian record in the event with his 8:11.64 PB. On to the final! https://t.co/3cUqPIoQrP — Matt Hughes (@HugheSteeple) August 22, 2015
